Who would spend up to 40 hours tying a single full dress fly? Major
Popkin did!
John Popkin Traherne (1826-1901) was one of the most innovative fly
tiers of all time. No other salmon flies require the same amount of
patience and precision to tie as Major Traherne's. His fly patterns won
the title of best tier at the World Exhibition i London in 1883. These
patterns are a demonstration of the material and artistry of salmon
flies and although they are no longer in use, they remain a technical
challenge even for the most talented and experienced fly dressers.
We are very pleased to present 12 flies of the Traherne collection
dressed by Dariusz Ptak - Polish seaman - w word recognized tier. For
more than 20 years he has been tying full dress pattern using his
imagination and the highest
technical skills based on his long experience.
Very high esthetic quality that is rarely encountered in fishing
calendars, big size (50 cm - 42 cm) and high substance lacquered paper
(300 g/m).
Limited edition item.
